GOODMAYES BAPTIST CHURCH - Who We Are & Where We Are
Goodmayes Baptist Church is a fellowship of Christians in East London. We are a friendly multi-ethnic Church family with people of all ages, from all walks of life and backgrounds, brought together by the love of God. As a Church family we seek to serve God and to make Jesus Christ known within the community.
The church is located at the corner of Goodmayes Road and Kinfauns Road. It is in the London Borough of Redbridge, and is just a 3 minute walk from Goodmayes railway station. Goodmayes is located between Ilford and Romford.
Sunday morning services start at 10.30 hrs. The doors of our Church are open to everyone, whatever your belief, walk of life, cultural background, or race. All are welcome! For more information about the Sunday service, including the Sunday School for children, click-here.
Rev Godfried Allotey (from Ghana) has been our pastor since 2005.
SATURDAY 28TH JULY 2018 - CHURCH PICNIC
We are having a Church Picnic on Saturday 28th July 2018 in Victoia Park! Below are the instructions as to how to get there by train and bus:-
Travel by train from Goodmayes to Stratford. Suggest catching the 10.54 or 11.04 train from Goodmayes going to Liverpool Street. This will ensure adequate time to get to Victoria Park by 12.00 hrs. At Stratford step across the platform and board a westbound Central Line train. Mile End is the next stop.
On arrival at Mile End Station go up the steps to the exit. Turn right out of Mile End Station and walk about 100 metres/yards along Mile End Road to the second bus stop. NB, take care crossing the blue cycle lane to get to the bus stop - cyclists rarely ring their bells to warn they are coming……
Wait for the 425 bus going towards Clapton. Board that bus. The journey will take around 10 minutes. Listen out for the automated bus stop announcement ‘Victoria Park’. Alight at that stop. Walk southwards the short distance towards the main entrances to Victoria Park. These entrances are on the north side of the roundabout on Old Ford Road. Be there by 12.00 hrs to meet up.
On return, board the 425 bus in Grove Road within Victoria Park. Listen out for the automated bus stop announcement ‘Mile End Station’.
Alight at that stop. Turn right and walk very short distance to the pedestrian crossing. The entrance to Mile End Station is directly opposite.

WHAT WE BELIEVE:
We as Christians believe that people are brought into a right relationship with God by trusting in Jesus Christ (and no one else). For more detailed information on what we believe click-here. See also Coming-Home-to-God.
In the Baptist Church we believe in adult baptism in total immersion in water. We refer to it as Believers Baptism. It takes place in the baptismal pool in our church (it is normally kept covered over). There is nothing special about the water; it is heated to a comfortable temperature. The purpose of Believers Baptism is to testify publicly that a person is committed to following Jesus Christ and to serving God in the church and the world for the rest of his or her life. For more information click-here
Believers Baptism can also be carried out in a river, lake, the sea, or even in a swimming pool!
Goodmayes Baptist Church has level step-free access through out. It is all on the ground floor level. There is a toilet for wheelchair users at the main entrance to the church off Goodmayes Road.
